A recent report in The Guardian newspaper says that there is now increasing evidence that the development of a child’s brain can be diminished if that child grows up in poverty.

Dr Kimberley Noble MD PhD and her colleagues at the Neurocognition, Early Experience and Development Lab in Columbia University are undertaking a landmark study which could soon definitively prove that growing up poor can keep a child’s brain from developing.
